International Beauty brand, Natures Gentle Touch has donated 500 cartons of Natures gentle Touch Hand Sanitizers to the Lagos State Government to support the government’s COVID-19 response. The presentation was made at the Lagos Government Warehouse in Lekki, Lagos.
According to Chika Ikenga, the founder of Natures Gentle Touch, “the brand stands in solidarity with Lagos State. The dramatic spread of the Coronavirus has disrupted lives, livelihoods and communities. We cannot stand aside and watch. Government cannot do it alone without the support of the private sector, other groups and the citizens. We cannot afford to feel hopeless and helpless in this uncertain and unprecedented time”. “Natures Gentle Touch Beauty brand believes in the concepts of community, support and togetherness”. He added
Ikenga therefore, called for more private sector support to the government, both at the state and federal level, to fight this pandemic. He also urged Nigerians to follow laid down guidelines by the health officials and ensure frequent sanitizing and washing of hands whilst observing social distancing. Natures Gentle Touch, he promised will continue to donate free hand sanitizers and soap to the areas most in need to minimize the impact of the virus on public health.
Dr. Fredric Oladehinde, Commissioner for Transport, while receiving the items on behalf of the state government commended Natures Gentle Touch brand for supporting the government to battle the Coronavirus pandemic in the state and by extension, Nigeria. He noted that COVID-19 is real. “We are very appreciative of what the brand has done.” He said.
Oladehinde also called on other private Organisations to emulate the brand’s gesture adding that the war against the pandemic can only be won collectively.
He reiterated the need for members of the public to stay at home, and stay safe, while also adhering to all laid down regulations as given by health officials to curtail the pandemic. He assured the representatives of the brand that the Government would ensure that the sanitizers get to those who need them, especially the most vulnerable.
